Completing her MBBS in the prestigious Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal, Dr. Padmaja had received her MD from AIIMS, New Delhi in the year of 1994. She has received Dr. G. N Mathur Prize in in Physiology and Dr. Rama Memorial Gold Medal in OBG.
